Our story
CMCA(UK) supports some of the world’s most critical sectors, including defence, aerospace, automation, energy, oil and gas, pharmaceutical and transport.
We’re a privately owned business with a dynamic team of in-house experts specialising in all aspects of strategic and tactical obsolescence management. We also offer a wide range of procurement solutions, from supply chain management requirements to sourcing and supplying ‘difficult to find’ components or services. We pride ourselves on delivering a bespoke service to help our clients reduce their costs, streamline their operations and improve efficiency, productivity and sustainability.
CMCA(UK) was initially established to provide NATO Codification to the UK Ministry of Defence, an area in which we have continued to flourish. In 2014, we were awarded the single source contract to perform NATO Codification on behalf of all three branches of the UK Armed Forces and still hold this contract today.
From our NATO Codification roots, we diversified our business portfolio to offer an extended range of services in obsolescence management, training, defence procurement and long-term storage. Our services have been designed to meet the needs of almost any industry or environment.
We’re accredited to the highest quality assurance and cybersecurity standards, including ISO9001 and Cyber Essentials PLUS. We also hold Rolls-Royce’s GS3001 certification, which recognises our exceptional quality standards and underpins our strategic support partnership with one of our largest customers.

Obsolescence management
Our specialist technical support team provides bespoke solutions covering all aspects of strategic and tactical obsolescence management, including:
- Proactive component monitoring – regularly checking the bill of materials for component availability
- Obsolescence mitigation investigations – conducting investigations to find suitable solutions to help manage obsolescence issues
- Obsolescence management strategies, plans and training – developing and delivering innovative solutions that help our clients better manage their issues to streamline operations, drive improvement and mitigate risk
We can also provide state-of-the-art, dual-site, long-term nitrogen storage facilities to help mitigate obsolescence risks where the lifetime buy of electronic equipment is the most practical solution.

Procurement solutions
Our specialist procurement services team offers a wide range of purchasing solutions to add value across your supply chain activities. From developing bespoke solutions to supply chain management requirements to sourcing and supplying hard-to-find items or services like kitting, we work with customers to deliver a tailor-made service that reduces cost and increases operational efficiency.
We take considerable pride in being a subject matter expert, experienced in all aspects of procurement, which ensures we can provide high-quality solutions and continuous support to our customers. Our services are aligned with various AQAPs and accredited to AS9120b.
Codification Services
Our roots are deeply entwined in NATO codification, and our specialist codification services team is the UK’s number one subject matter authority in this area.
We deliver all NATO codification on behalf of the UK MoD, creating, allocating and maintaining NATO Stock Numbers for the military supply chain and MoD project teams.
