CMCA(UK) launched the Apprenticeships Scheme in 2014 to invest and develop in future employee’s through recruiting young people, adding value to the business whilst supporting the local economy. The apprenticeship scheme at CMCA(UK) is all about picking up new skills, a variety of them in great number along with experience that you wouldn’t be able to get anywhere else. “We believe that training is not only about ticking boxes, an apprentice can bring great value to a business in the form of a fresh perspective” says Rachael Allen, CMCA(UK) Business Support Coordinator.
Back in September 2014 CMCA(UK) welcomed Oliver Jethwa to the team, brimming with enthusiasm to get started and pick up new skills to add to his college background in engineering electronics. We’re pleased to report the scheme has been a success and speaking of his experience so far at CMCA(UK) Oliver says;
“I’ve been a part of CMCA(UK) for almost 18 months and looking back I can’t believe how much training I’ve managed to squeeze in during that time, which has been both challenging and enjoyable. I’m about to embark on my final few weeks at the Heart of Worcestershire college to complete a Higher National diploma (HNC) in Electronics. Alongside my college training I’ve also been learning the ropes in the various departments within CMCA(UK). I’ve been able to experience life in almost every department within the company which has been great as it’s enabled me to see the entire workings of CMCA(UK) and how every department contributes to the smooth running of a niche organization like CMCA(UK). Codification has definitely been the most challenging department for me so far due to the many processes there are to understand and learn, but also really interesting. I’m happy that I have almost completed my HNC as I will soon be able to spend more time focusing on my NVQ projects within CMCA(UK). Going forward I’m excited for CMCA(UK)’s brand new security product V-Guard to go into production in the very near future as being in the company during its development has given me the opportunity to attend big industry exhibitions like DSEI and see first hand how it is received. I hope to have more involvement with V-Guard going forward and being able to utilize my background in electronics.”
